Setting up residence in HK’s new trendy waterfront location, The Pulse in Repulse Bay, is Shoku, a Japanese bar and grill serving up some of the city’s freshest seafood. Following in the footsteps of it’s sister restaurant, Kishoku, Shoku aims to bring modern, high quality Japanese fare to the discerning foodie. Boasting Hong Kong’s largest authentic “Binchotan” charcoal grill as it’s centrepiece, the lively spot serves up fresh grilled seafood flown daily from Japan. We loved the seafood bar where we were encouraged to pick out the day’s freshest catch and watch from the bar as our chef slow grilled each fragrant dish. We highly recommend the Tasting Menu featuring a selection of the chef’s recommended dishes including the crispy Deep Fried Oysters, the refreshing, summer perfect Whole Avocado on Mixed Salad Leaves with Shoyu Dressing, the popular fresh grilled Fresh Whole Abalone and Whole Hokkaido Scallops, a sampling of their moreish Binchotan Grilled Meat & Vegetable Skewers, and their delicious, juicy Binchotan Charcoal Grilled Prime Wagyu Steak. Each dish paired perfectly with their enticing Asian inspired cocktails and extensive sake menu. The beachfront location makes Shoku an ideal spot to enjoy fresh fare and refreshing drinks after a hot summer day out and we highly recommend sitting at the bar and enjoying the interactive dining experience.
