We love The Popsy Room’s concept of fusing art and fine dining under one roof and letting their exhibitions of modern art inspire the mouthwatering menus, so were very excited to go back and sample what they had on offer this summer. Tracy Lee Griffith is debuting for the first time in HK with her “Ribbons and Skulls” exhibition and we loved the plethora of vibrant colours and textures garnishing the inviting art gallery/dining room. The Popsy Room appropriately created a menu full of refreshing summer flavours, bright pops of colour, and an array of textures that were both a feast for our taste buds and eyes. We loved the indulgent Black Truffle Proscuitto Toastini with Quail Egg and Fresh Lemon Mayo, the fresh Scallop Tartar with Crisp Shallot and Pesto, and the Fresh Clams with Seafood Creme Soup to start. This was followed by the “Forget me Not” a dish made of Buttery Foie Gras Rice, Silky French Spring Chicken Roll, Baby Carrots and Micro Greens. For mains your choices are between the Tender Pork with Seared Peach, Carrot Puree, Chorizo Polenta Cake and Micro Greens, and the Red Wine Braised Beef Cheeks with Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Nutmeg, Cherry Tomatoes stuffed with Eggplant Puree and Ratatouille. The menu ends with a beautiful Green Tea Crisp Surprise with Sweet Beetroot Sauce, Pineapples, Gooseberries, Red Current and Fresh Vanilla Creme. Still one of our favourite spots for a unique date night or private dinner party.
