AuBlanc, at InterContinental Sapporo, was a memorable highlight of our stay, offering a dining experience that felt both refined and genuinely welcoming. The interiors are calm and elegant, with warm wood tones and soft natural textures that reflect Hokkaido’s landscape.
From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. The staff were attentive and thoughtful without ever feeling formal or stiff, and they made a real effort to engage with our children. It felt like the kind of place where detail matters, but comfort is never sacrificed.
Breakfast was a real treat. The buffet was generous yet carefully curated, with a strong focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients from across Hokkaido. Everything we tried felt high quality, from delicate pastries to beautifully prepared savoury dishes, and it was an easy, enjoyable way to start the day together as a family.
Dinner was equally impressive. We had the Bistro Degustation menu and were struck by how well each dish showcased local produce. Standout dishes included the sweet, Marinated Hokkaido Scallop with Celeriac, Vinaigrette Sauce, the Cod with Snow-Cellar Daikon Radish and Shellfish Jus which was light yet full of depth, and the Hokkaido Duck which was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, with a sharp red wine vinegar sauce that balanced the richness.
Our children were just as happy with their spaghetti bolognese, which was simple, comforting, and made with the same care as the more complex dishes. AuBlanc manages to deliver a luxurious experience that still feels warm, approachable, and perfect for families.
