One of the most memorable evenings of our stay at Hotel Tugu Bali was the Cultural Dinner at IWA Restaurant. More than simply a meal, it felt like an immersive journey through Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage, surrounded by one of the most beautiful dining settings we experienced in Bali. Located within the hotel’s extraordinary collection of antiques and historical treasures, IWA celebrates authentic recipes from across the Indonesian archipelago, bringing generations of tradition to the table with a refined contemporary touch.

As dinner began, captivating traditional performances unfolded throughout the evening, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and deeply connected to Balinese culture. The combination of live music, graceful dance and the restaurant’s museum like surroundings made every course feel like part of a story rather than simply another dish.

We started with the refreshing Tuba Gohu Ternate before moving on to the wonderfully tender Babi Penebel. The Nasi Campur offered a delicious introduction to a variety of regional flavours, while the East Java Smoked Chicken Curry was rich, aromatic and incredibly comforting. To finish, the Chocolate Lava Cake provided the perfect sweet ending to an exceptional meal.

What truly elevated the evening was the impeccable service. Every member of the team was warm, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about sharing Indonesia’s culinary traditions. Combined with the unforgettable ambience, it created a dining experience that felt both intimate and theatrical.

For anyone visiting Canggu, the Cultural Dinner at IWA Restaurant is far more than dinner. It is a celebration of Indonesian history, artistry and hospitality that leaves a lasting impression long after the final performance has ended.
