For dinner, we chose the restaurant’s signature Archipelago Rijsttafel, a luxurious interpretation of the historic Indonesian feast that brings together a generous selection of regional specialities served alongside rice and an array of accompanying dishes. Every course highlighted a different corner of the Indonesian archipelago, allowing us to experience a remarkable variety of flavours in a single meal.
One of the most memorable moments came before the meal had even begun, as our sambal was freshly prepared tableside. Watching the ingredients carefully ground together before being served added a wonderful sense of theatre while showcasing just how much care goes into Indonesia’s most iconic condiment. The freshly made sambal perfectly complemented the succession of beautifully presented dishes, each one balancing authentic flavours with refinement.
Beyond dinner, Bejana is equally impressive in the morning. During busier periods, guests are invited to enjoy the resort’s extensive breakfast buffet here, making the most of the restaurant’s breathtaking elevated setting. With panoramic views, exceptional service and one of the finest Indonesian dining experiences we enjoyed in Bali, Bejana is a restaurant that celebrates the country’s culinary traditions while presenting them with elegance, creativity and genuine warmth. It is an experience we would highly recommend to anyone looking to discover the true depth of Indonesian cuisine.
