Set in the heart of Uluwatu, Masonry Uluwatu has quickly become one of Bali’s must dine spots. We’ve been hearing a slew of praise since its opening and were eager to try the intimate abd stylish eatery ourselves. The contemporary space strikes a wonderful balance between relaxed neighbourhood dining and polished destination restaurant, with warm, attentive service that immediately makes you feel at home. The menu is inspired by bold Mediterranean flavours, elevated with quality local ingredients and thoughtful execution, making it an easy choice whether you are stopping by for a leisurely lunch or an evening meal.
Our date night was set in a quiet corner, dimly lit by candlelight, immersed in the ambient dining room. We began with the hummus, which was wonderfully smooth and creamy with plenty of flavour, served alongside warm, freshly baked bread that was impossible to resist. The octopus carpaccio was another standout, beautifully delicate with bright citrus notes that perfectly complemented the tender seafood. One of our favourite dishes of the meal was the chermoula crusted tuna. Perfectly cooked and incredibly fresh.
For our main course, the Best End pork loin was cooked beautifully, remaining exceptionally juicy with a wonderful balance of richness and tenderness. Every element on the plate felt carefully considered, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. To finish, the pavlova was the perfect ending. Crisp on the outside, soft and marshmallow-like in the centre, it was topped with fresh fruit and just the right amount of sweetness to leave us ending the meal on a high.
Don’t forget to try their creative, refreshing cocktails or the many tempting side dishes that pair perfectly with any meal. With excellent food, a vibrant atmosphere and genuinely welcoming hospitality, Masonry is a spot I’m sure we’ll return to again and again.
