Jozankei, one of Hokkaido’s most renowned onsen towns, is located just an hour from buzzing Sapporo and ideal for a quiet and scenic getaway. We stayed at the luxurious Chalet Ivy during our visit which is comprised of a selection of luxury suites complete with private onsens and spectacular river views. During the winter season guests are treated to a picturesque snow-filled landscape and the cozy property provides the perfect sanctuary for an indulgent stay. Service was five star from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with an array of local Hokkaido snacks and beverages which are complimentary for all hotel guests. The sleek and stylish lounge provides a perfect space for relaxing and soaking in the beautiful surroundings. Our luxurious suite incorporated a traditional tatami sleeping area, comfortable and open lounge, cozy dining area, and a sumptuous private onsen. Every detail wrapped us in Japanese tradition alongside elevated luxurious details.
Dining is a must when staying at Chalet Ivy boasting one of the best restaurants we’ve tried in Hokkaido. ZUI serves Japanese fine dining in scenic surroundings and utilises high quality Hokkaido ingredients. We were throughly impressed with the decadent traditional Japanese breakfast each morning and highly recommend the mouthwatering kaiseki dinner for anyone visiting Jozankei.
Guests also have access to indoor and outdoor public onsens where you can benefit from the local spring water. The hotel also boasts a fully equipped gym, stylish bar and is in close proximity to the local sights, parks, and eateries. The incredible staff went out of their way to ensure a smooth and comfortable stay and always remembered personal details making our family feel right at home. An amazing choice for those looking for a beaitufl and luxurious getaway in the natural beauty of Hokkaido.
