During our stay, we loved returning to our contemporary guestroom, complete with a private balcony and sweeping views of London’s ever changing skyline. The hotel incorporates bespoke street art from local artists throughout the building, a nod to the cultural heritage of the surrounding neighbourhoods of Aldgate, Whitechapel and Brick Lane. With 276 rooms and panoramic views from the sixth to ninth floors, the property feels connected to the city while offering a peaceful retreat above it all.
Breakfast quickly became a highlight of each morning. Guests can choose between a hearty spread at Sotto Cucina and Bar or the elevated rooftop setting at Pocketsquare Skyline Bar and Terrace, where panoramic city views accompany your first coffee of the day. Both options are delicious, and we also loved returning to Sotto for dinner, especially after a long day exploring London. The combination of warm hospitality, good food and stylish surroundings makes dining here feel like a treat in itself.
One of the best parts of staying at Hyatt Place London City East is its close proximity to major sites. We highly recommend visiting the Tower of London’s A Storybook Christmas, which is only one stop away on the tube and an unforgettable way to experience the city during the festive season. What truly set our stay apart at the hotel were the thoughtful personal touches, such as nighttime hot chocolates and cookies delivered to our room and tailored recommendations that helped us discover neighbourhood gems. Its location, equidistant from Aldgate East and Whitechapel stations, makes travelling across London simple and efficient.
Hyatt Place London City East is also celebrated for its commitment to sustainability, having earned AHEAD’s European Special Award for Sustainability and achieving BREEAM Excellent accreditation for its low carbon building and advanced filtration systems.
