Chalet Ivy Weiss is the stunning new luxury hotel that opened in winter 2025 in the serene Hanazono area of Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. Tucked at the foot of the Weisshorn with uninterrupted views of Mt Yotei and the surrounding ranges, it offers guests a world class mountain sanctuary that feels both remote and exquisitely comfortable.
We visited Chalet Ivy Weiss as a family, and it instantly felt like the perfect base for our Niseko getaway. We stayed in a corner suite with a connecting room, an ideal layout for families that incorporates two large en suite bedrooms along with a spacious separate lounge and dining area. This generous configuration gave us room to relax and spend time together, while still offering everyone their own personal space. Floor to ceiling windows showcased breathtaking mountain views that became a beautiful backdrop to our mornings and evenings.
The hotel’s facilities are designed to elevate your stay beyond just a place to sleep. The onsen on the wellness floor provides a blissful retreat, an infinity hot spring that frames the mountains and invites quiet reflection after a day out in the snow. There is also a well equipped gym to keep up with workouts, a spa offering rejuvenating treatments, and handy guest laundry facilities that make family travel much easier. The hotel offers a frequent complimentary shuttle service to the Hanazono area for some of the best skiing in Niseko.
Service throughout our stay was warm and attentive, with staff who anticipated our needs and made us feel truly welcomed. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious set breakfast with the choice of Japanese or Western options, served in an elegant yet relaxed dining space. And each evening, our gourmet dinners at Haruka were memorable, with exquisite omakase meals showcasing the best of Hokkaido’s seasonal ingredients.
Chalet Ivy Weiss perfectly blends contemporary luxury, thoughtful family friendly design, and spectacular natural beauty. It is a destination in itself and a standout choice for anyone seeking an unforgettable Niseko experience.
