The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon is one of the most stylish and energetic hotels we have stayed at in Bangkok, perfectly blending playful luxury, bold design, incredible dining, and a lively social atmosphere right in the heart of the city. Set within the iconic King Power Mahanakhon building, the hotel feels vibrant from the moment you arrive, while still managing to offer the comfort and relaxation of a true luxury stay.
We stayed in one of their beautiful Suite Spot rooms, which was ideal for spreading out and relaxing after busy days exploring Bangkok. The suite featured a separate bedroom and lounge area, floor to ceiling windows with stunning city views, and a huge bathroom that felt sleek, luxurious, and thoughtfully designed. Every detail throughout the room reflected The Standard’s signature aesthetic with playful touches, bold colours, modern furnishings, and an atmosphere that somehow feels both glamorous and welcoming at the same time.
One of our favourite parts of the stay was simply spending time throughout the property enjoying the incredible design. Every corner of the hotel feels curated yet effortless, from the stylish lobby spaces to the restaurants, pool area, and rooftop venues. The swimming pool offers a chic urban oasis surrounded by greenery and colourful loungers, creating the perfect escape from the pace of the city below.
Breakfast each morning at Double Standard was another highlight. The cooked to order menu offered a fantastic variety with beautifully prepared dishes, excellent coffee, and a lively atmosphere that made mornings feel relaxed yet energising. The service throughout the hotel was consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere that makes The Standard feel so special.
Dining across the property was exceptional. We loved our dinner at The Standard Grill, which combines classic steakhouse favourites with contemporary flair in one of the city’s most stylish dining rooms. Mott 32 Bangkok was equally memorable, serving refined Cantonese cuisine alongside excellent cocktails in a dramatic and glamorous setting.
The hotel is also home to an impressive state of the art gym, one of the best equipped hotel fitness centres we have experienced, making it easy to maintain wellness routines while travelling. For evenings, Sky Beach provides incredible panoramic views across Bangkok alongside cocktails and a lively rooftop atmosphere that perfectly captures the hotel’s playful energy.
The Standard Bangkok is bold, fun, luxurious, and effortlessly cool, making it one of our favourite city stays in the capital.
