Nestled within the breathtaking South Ari Atoll, NH Maldives Kuda Rah Resort is a beautiful tropical retreat surrounded by turquoise waters, pristine white sands and abundant marine life. We stayed in the stunning Two Bedroom Beach Pool Pavilion Villa, a spacious duplex retreat offering the perfect combination of privacy, comfort and beachfront living. The thoughtfully designed two-storey layout provided plenty of room for our family, with a private swimming pool and direct access to the beach just steps from our doorstep. We particularly loved the breezy outdoor deck and elevated balcony and hammock, which offered inviting spaces to relax while enjoying the ocean breeze. One of our most indulgent experiences was a beautifully presented floating breakfast served in our private pool, a wonderful way to begin another day in paradise.
Beyond our villa, the resort’s picturesque main swimming pool provides a tranquil setting for afternoons in the sunshine, while the stunning beach invites leisurely walks and refreshing swims. Located in one of the Maldives’ most celebrated marine regions, South Ari Atoll is renowned for its extraordinary underwater biodiversity, including colourful reef fish, sea turtles, manta rays and whale sharks. Guests can explore the surrounding waters through snorkelling, diving and an exciting selection of water sports. We particularly enjoyed kayaking across the turquoise lagoon and discovering the natural beauty surrounding the island.
One of our most memorable family experiences began when River joined a sunset fishing excursion, returning with his very own catch. The following day, we all participated in a wonderful Maldivian cooking class, learning about traditional local flavours and preparation techniques. The experience became even more special when the kitchen prepared River’s freshly caught fish for our lunch, creating a delicious and unforgettable family memory.
Dining is another highlight, with Sea Spray Restaurant offering an impressive changing buffet and semi à la carte selections, including freshly prepared wok dishes, pasta, Maldivian curries and grilled seafood. For a more elevated experience, Ocean Restaurant serves beautifully presented fine dining dishes, from Angus beef carpaccio to fresh local fish and premium tenderloin. Our private beach dinner was particularly magical, with a delicious multi-course menu enjoyed beneath the stars, surrounded by flickering fire torches and the gentle ocean breeze.
The resort’s impressive all-inclusive package adds another layer of convenience, with generous dining options, refreshing cocktails, wines and beverages throughout the day. Combined with the genuinely warm and attentive staff, who consistently made us feel welcome and well cared for, NH Maldives Kuda Rah delivers a memorable island escape where natural beauty, thoughtful luxury and wonderful family experiences come together effortlessly.
