From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. It is warm, intuitive, and polished without ever feeling formal. The ski valet in particular makes a huge difference. Boots are warmed, equipment is handled, and everything is ready each morning, which takes away so much of the usual stress of a ski trip with kids.
We stayed in a Two Twin Mountain View Room, which was impressively spacious and very well suited to families. There is a separate living and dining area, and the fold out sofa bed worked perfectly for the children without compromising comfort. The bathroom felt wonderfully indulgent, with a deep soaking tub that was exactly what you want after a full day on the slopes. The mountain views add to the overall sense of calm and space.
The onsen quickly became part of our daily routine. Sliding into the hot mineral baths after skiing is hard to beat, and the facilities are beautifully maintained, offering a quiet, restorative escape. The hotel also features a full wellness offering, including a pool and spa, all designed with the same understated elegance.
Breakfast each morning is generous and beautifully executed, with a wide range of both Japanese and Western options. It is a relaxed but high quality start to the day. The Lounge is also a great option for dinner, especially with family, offering a setting that feels both refined and comfortable. Their semi-buffet is a foodie heaven featuring fresh Hokkaido seafood, perfectly grilled meats, and classic Japanese dishes.
Hanazono itself has plenty to keep children entertained beyond skiing. After a day on the slopes, we loved gathering around the outdoor fire pits to roast marshmallows, a simple but memorable way to wind down. In the evenings, the tubing slope transforms into a fluorescent, almost disco like experience that the kids absolutely loved. It is fun, lively, and a great way to extend the day. On select nights, fireworks light up the sky, adding an extra layer of magic to the whole experience.
Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono manages to deliver luxury without losing that sense of ease that makes a family holiday truly enjoyable. It is thoughtful, beautifully run, and somewhere we know creates memories to last a lifetime.
