Set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Yotei, Hilton Niseko Village is the ultimate family base for a ski holiday in Hokkaido. From the moment we stepped into the welcoming lobby, with its warm, contemporary design, we felt both relaxed and inspired for the adventures ahead. Guestrooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, with large windows framing spectacular views of Yotei that make even quiet evenings in the room feel extraordinary.
The resort’s ski-in, ski-out location is one of its greatest luxuries. Ski lifts just outside the door connect directly to Niseko’s world-class slopes, famous for their light powder snow. Everything you need for the mountains is on-site, from convenient ski rentals to lessons for all ages. After days on the slopes, our children still had plenty of energy to enjoy the kids’ sledding area, which became a highlight of the trip. Both of them loved racing and playing there, making it the perfect family-friendly touch.
Dining at Hilton Niseko Village is an experience in itself. Sisam Japanese Restaurant offered beautifully prepared sashimi, grilled king salmon, a comforting unagi rice bowl, which was the children’s favourite, and an indulgent crab selection. At Melt Bar & Grill, we enjoyed lavish buffet dinners with a fresh salad bar, seafood, sizzling meats, and decadent desserts like crêpes Suzette and a flowing chocolate fountain. Mornings at Melt were equally memorable, with a buffet breakfast featuring Japanese specialties and Western comfort, the ideal start to a big ski day. For something casual, Ezo Pub provided hearty classics such as ramen, tonkatsu curry, and a juicy double cheeseburger, alongside beers on tap and après-ski cocktails with slope-side views.
When it came time to unwind, Hilton Niseko Village excelled. The resort’s onsen facilities were a true highlight, with soothing hot spring baths that melted away the chill of the slopes while offering serene views of the snowy landscape. The spa and fitness center added further balance, allowing us to rejuvenate body and mind before the next day’s adventures.
Just beyond the hotel, a charming street lined with cafés, eateries, and boutiques invited us to wander and explore local flavors and treasures. With its thoughtful mix of luxury, convenience, and family-friendly amenities, Hilton Niseko Village proved to be much more than a hotel, it was the heart of an unforgettable family holiday.
