Staying at Amilla Maldives felt like entering a private island crafted for family luxury, adventure, and genuine relaxation. We stayed in the Two Bedroom Overwater Pool Villa with lagoon views, a beautifully appointed haven with generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, a decadent bathroom, and a spacious second bedroom perfect for the kids. Mornings began with coffee on the deck as the lagoon shimmered beneath us, and lazy afternoons were spent floating in our private pool or wandering the island’s quiet paths.
The island is a playground for families who love both activity and calm. We loved cycling around the lush trails, exploring pristine white sand beaches, and snorkeling the vibrant house reef alive with baby sharks and stingrays. A standout experience was our time with the on site marine biologist, who led the children on an educational nature walk and a guided reef snorkel that was equal parts fun and eye opening. Those moments turned curiosity into respect for the ocean and became memories our kids still talk about.
Fitness and recreation are exceptionally well catered for. Amilla’s impressive indoor and outdoor fitness centers, exclusive yoga classes, professional tennis courts, and full sized football pitch meant there was always something to keep every member of the family energized. The stunning infinity main pool became our daily gathering spot for swims and sundowners, while the huge organic garden supplied vibrant produce to the restaurants and lent a real sense of place to the island.
The spa at Amilla is world class. We enjoyed one of the most relaxing couples massages we have ever had, a deeply restorative treatment delivered in a serene setting that perfectly complemented the island’s pace. The kids loved the fun filled kids club where creative art classes and supervised activities kept them happily engaged while we embraced a little grown up time.
Dining at Amilla is an absolute highlight with a variety of restaurants that suit every mood and appetite. Our family favorites included Barolo for handmade pastas and grilled seafood, Emperor Beach Club for casual beachfront lunches, Feeling Koi for overwater Japanese dining, Tessera for vibrant Greek flavors, Baazaar for poolside lunches, and Fresh for generous, varied breakfasts. Each venue paired thoughtful cuisine with warm service and family friendly touches.
