Wine Tasting

We had an unforgettable experience at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, leaving with a long list of sun-kissed memories. The large resort is spreads across three connected islands, with our family staying in one of the new Grand Beach Suites on Dream Island. The suite felt modern and spacious, with bright contemporary interiors and a private pool set right on the sandy shore. The layout included a separate bedroom for our children so we had a real sense of space and privacy while still being together. The new Grand Beach Suites are clearly designed with families in mind.

One of the things we loved was the resort’s dine around all inclusive. Being able to choose from so many restaurants without worrying about the bill made our evenings relaxed and indulgent. From casual beachfront pizza nights to more formal dinners, the variety kept every meal interesting and effortless. The resort’s dine around plan is clearly laid out and straightforward to use.

We savoured fragrant Indian dishes at Namaste, barefoot BBQ night at Maghrib Grill, playful family slices at Island Pizza, themed overwater buffets at Sunset Restaurant and a refined dinner at Crust & Flame. The unforgettable Lagoon Lunch, with a three course menu and a bottle of bubbly while our feet dipped in the clear water, remains one of our top memories.

For activities we loved the guided house reef snorkel where turtles and stingrays glided around us, the 3 point snorkelling where we had the thrilling experience of swimming with reef sharks, and the dolphin cruise at sunset, where dozens of dolphins played in the bow wake. Kayaking in the lagoon and friendly tennis matches were simple pleasures that the whole family enjoyed. The resort runs a broad programme of excursions and marine experiences for all ages.

Wellness and leisure are equally impressive. The Ocean Spa on Dream Island and the hydrotherapy facilities are a beautiful, restorative escape, and there are multiple swimming pools including the Maldives’ longest pool, so you are never far from a dip. Exceptional service, stunning beaches and more than 20 food and beverage outlets mean you will never be bored, and being only a short boat ride from the international airport makes getting there refreshingly simple.

Sun Siyam Olhuveli is perfect for families who want choice, unexpected moments of magic and real comfort by the sea. We left already planning our return.
